Harold Alfred Bowron, Jr.

FAIRHOPE Harold Alfred Bowron, Jr., age 87, died on June 16, 2015. He was a native and resident of Birmingham, Alabama for 72 years before retiring to Fairhope, Alabama with his wife of 60 years, Anne Isaacs Bowron. He was an accomplished Navy pilot. After leaving the Navy he completed his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University and continued on to graduate from Vanderbilt University School of Law. He was admitted to the Alabama Bar Association in 1955 and joined the law firm of Balch and Bingham that same year. He relished his years as a trial lawyer and as such was recognized by being inducted as a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. He retired from the practice of law December 31, 1998. He then moved to Fairhope, AL where he became active in the Thomas Hospital Auxiliary and was honored for his volunteer service. He was preceded in death by his son Harold Alfred Bowron, III. He is survived by his wife Anne; brother Walter Glenn (Beverly) Bowron; daughter, Lucy (Bill) Bingham of Fairhope, AL.; sons, Edward Gibson Isaacs (Abbie) Bowron of Mobile, AL., Mark Wakefield (Lydia) Bowron of Wetumpka, AL., James Alexander (Elizabeth) Bowron of Charleston, SC.; 16 grandchildren, Blakely (Riley) Taylor, Lieutenant JG Harold Alfred Bowron, IV., Lillian Wakefield Bowron, Anne Bingham (Rob) Goodwin, William Wakefield (Clair) Bingham, John Alexander (Kendall) Bingham, Lucy Glenn Bingham, Corporal Charles Graham Bingham, Edward Gibson Isaacs (Rachel) Bowron, Jr., Joseph Henry Mims Bowron, Payne Wakefield Bowron, Mark Wakefield Bowron, Jr., Mary Kathryn Meagan Bowron, Schylar Gray Bowron, Luke Stanfield Bowron, James Alexander Bowron, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Riley Hill Taylor, Jr., Caroline Ellis Bingham and John Robert Goodwin. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 10, 2015 in the chapel at South Highland Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, AL. There will be a reception at 10:00 AM prior to the service.
