Johnnie "JB" B Dowdle

SPANISH FORT Johnnie B. "JB" Dowdle age 86, passed away at his home in Spanish Fort, Alabama June 9, 2015 after battling with Multiple Myeloma Cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife and his children. JB Dowdle was born in the Town of Newton, Mississippi on September 29, 1928. He was the 3rd child of Oliver and Ella Dowdle. He was preceded in death by Grandson Adam Keith Davis. He proudly served his country and is a Veteran Of the United States Army and served in the Korean War 1950 to 1952. He was an employee of Scott Paper Company for 35 years retiring November, 1987. JB was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort and an avid fisherman enjoying cat fishing and shrimping in the Mobile Delta region. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Charlie V. Dowdle. He is also survived by three children: Daughters Tanya (Tamie) Thames of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Denise (Don) Davis of Senoia, Georgia, and son Johnnie B (Annette) Dowdle, Jr. Covington, Louisiana; Seven Grand Children: Shelly Davis, Seth (Emily) Davis, Mandy (Clay) Lanham, Ashley Thames, Cole Dowdle, Katelyn and Jackson Dowdle and 3 Great Grandchildren: Henry, Caroline, Landon The family would like to thank the Covenant Hospice Team for all the wonderful support during this time, and all the many Prayers from family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. The family will receive relatives and friends, one hour to service time. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to: First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort, PO Box 7111, Spanish Fort, Alabama 36577.
