Marjorie Kirk Gunter Thames

Marjorie Kirk Gunter Thames, born in Bay Minette, AL and resided in Fairhope, AL passed away at her home with family by her side on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the age of 90. She was a member of Fairhope Women’s Business Association, Alabama Board of Realtors, La Luna Mardi Gras Society, and Fairhope Senior Travelers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Captain Walter Lester Kirk, Sr. and mother, Sally Ethelda Kirk Mayer; sister, Evelyn Mae Kirk Davis; brother, George Kirk; grandson, David Kirk Wooley; step daughter, Stephanie Thames Rhodes. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Steven “Mac” Thames; daughter, Linda Evon and husband Dan Evon; daughter, Valerie Wooley and husband David Wooley; daughter, Kim Gunter Blanks and husband Randy Blanks; daughter, Jane Thames Bates and husband Gary Bates; grandson Rodney Hinote; brother, Walter Lester Kirk, Jr. and wife Nell Kirk; special niece, Wanda Baber; five nieces; three nephews; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services officiated by Reverend Mike McKnight will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Graveside services and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
