SHIVER ROBERTSDALE, AL Lucille “Butch” Johnson Shiver, age 78, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Butch, as known to all her friends and family grew up in Pensacola, FL. but spent the last part of her life in Robertsdale, AL. She retired from Monsanto but her main passion was training and showing national winning horses. Inducted into the Palomino Horse Breeders Hall of Fame in 2001 was only a small portion of her many equine related accomplishments. Preceded in death by her mother Lela Bell Smith and her sister Jirlene Elling. Survivors include her husband, Henry Shiver and her loving nieces Linda Rae Tedesco and Denise (Lars) Kristiansen, her grand- niece Heather Whitworth and grand –nephews Ryan Whitworth and Sean (Heather) Whitworth and their six children. Pallbearers will be Sean Whitworth, Ryan Whitworth, Caleb Whitworth, Lars Kristiansen, Patrick Bevan, and Quentin Fontenot. Funeral service will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Monday, May 25, 2015 at 12:00 noon, with Reverend Bill Stephens officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time. Interment will follow in Lay Cemetery, County Road 20E, Elberta, AL The family wishes to extend a very special “Thank You” to the many friends and relatives for their prayers and support and being a part of her tremendous life.
