ROBERTSDALE Evelyn Stanton Root, age 87, a native of Daphne, AL and a resident of Robertsdale, AL, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey L. and Tommie Annie Stanton, brother, Lawrence Stanton and grandson, Cameron Boothe. She is survived by her children, Kitty E. (Jim) Akins of Spanish Fort, Susan E. (Ed) Hostetter of Lexington, KY, James K. Carney of Robertsdale; grandchildren, Laura Boothe of Elberta, Jason Mauldin of Rome, NY., Kenneth Carney of Robertsdale, Jill Akins and Jimmy Akins both of Spanish Fort; seven great grandchildren; brother, Tommy C. (Sally) Stanton of Gulf Shores; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A celebration of life memorial service will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes, Daphne, Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00pm until the time of service.
