Robert Paul Scott, age 89, a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 5, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Eleanore Vinci Scott of Fairhope; daughters, Cynthia Scott (Leslie Colonello) of New Orleans, LA, Pamela Scott (Collin Rust) of Fairhope, and Andrea Scott of Alamo, CA; two grandsons, Nicholas Rust of Baltimore, MD and Keenan Rust of Ft. Collins, CO. A native of Rochester New York, Bob served in the U.S. Navy and was awarded a Battle Star for his participation in the occupation of Okinawa until the end of World War II. In 1950, Bob graduated from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Journalism and had a 30-year career in Rochester in advertising and public relations. Fortunate to qualify for an early retirement from the Burroughs Corporation (Unisys) in 1981, Bob and Eleanore moved to Fairhope where they lived for nearly 34 years on Fairhope Avenue in the home that has been in Eleanore’s family since 1921.   In addition to being active with his family and his professional life, Bob had a passion for both golf and jazz.  A member of the Lakewood Golf Club for over 20 years, Bob loved the camaraderie of his golf friends and played golf several times a week. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
