Mark Howard Wilson, 63, of Fairhope, AL, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015. He was born in Montgomery, AL and attended the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He graduated from Huntington College where he was a member of the varsity tennis team. Mr. Wilson was in the banking business until he answered God’s call to ordained ministry. He received his M.Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary. He was Rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope for 14 years, where he faithfully proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mark enjoyed fly-fishing, cooking, and especially spending time with his family. Mr. Wilson is preceded in death by his brother, D. Clay Wilson; his father, L. Dan Wilson; his stepfather, Holt Rast. He is survived by his wife, Beth Wilson; his daughter, Elizabeth Wilson, Birmingham, AL; his son, Mark Wilson, Jr. (Terri), granddaughters Gentry and Wiley, Fairhope, AL; his mother, Elizabeth W. Rast, Montgomery, AL; his stepmother, Martine Wilson, Montgomery, AL; his brother, John Wilson (Tina), Montgomery, AL; his sister-in-law, Nancy Wilson, Fairhope, AL. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. Memorial donations may be made to St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope, Young Life Eastern Shore, or the American Diabetes Association, Birmingham, AL.
