Dean Duane Sheldon

SHELDON FOLEY, AL Dean Duane Sheldon, age 81, a native of Michigan and a resident of Foley, AL passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Sheldon, parents, Don Sheldon, Margarite Peeples; brother, Donnie Sheldon and a sister, Donna Lowe. Dean is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce E. Sheldon of Foley, AL; two sons, Don (Sadie) Sheldon of Honoraville, AL.; Bryon (Kim) Sheldon of Pulaski, TN; two grandchildren, Jacob (Tammi) Sheldon of Allegan, MI, Jason Sheldon of Otsego, MI; two great grandchildren, Kiylee Sheldon of Pensacola, FL and Kodi Sheldon of Honoraville, AL. Mr. Sheldon was an army veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. After his service, he lived in Michigan where he was employed as an advertising salesman. Dean (Deano) was a remarkable husband, father and grandfather who cherished family time. He surrounded himself with friends that he also considered family. Deano retired in 1995 and moved to Lillian, AL where he loved spending time on Perdido Bay until his recent move to Foley, AL. He was an active member of the American Legion, Amvets as well as the Moose Lodge, Otsego, MI, Community Club, Lillian, AL and an active lifetime member of the Elks Club. He impacted people’s lives wherever he went and lived his life to the fullest. He will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Deano’s memory be made to your favorite charity or an educational fund for his great- granddaughters.
