William Roberts

William Kenneth Roberts, age 84, resident of Fairhope passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 in Bay Minette. Bill received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Ole Miss and his graduate degree while in Huntsville. He was employed at the Naval Research Laboratory, Panama City, FL then later transferred to NASA, Huntsville, AL when the facility opened. After retirement from NASA in Houston, TX, he relocated to Fairhope, AL where he continued his education and received a nursing degree and worked eight years. Bill was a member of Phi Kappa Psi and the Radio and Electronic Society. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Bessie Roberts and a sister, Catherine “Kate” Cooper. Bill is survived by his wife, Joan Roberts of Fairhope, AL; daughter, Karen Jean (Kevin) Walden of Damon, TX; two grandchildren, Angela, Michael (Laura) Walden; three great granddaughters, Shelby, Emma, Sophia Walden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairhope United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association, or a favorite charity.
