FAIRHOPE, ALDorcus Marie Grinder Taylor, age 90, a native of Dresden, TN and a longtime resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Sunday, November 09, 2014.Mrs. Taylor during her lifetime, served as a volunteer nurse during WWII and later in her life she was a volunteer at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope. Marie loved baseball especially watching her Atlanta Braves. When she moved to Fairhope with her husband in 1972 from Huntsville, both converted to Catholicism and were member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.Marie was preceded in death by her husband, of 56 years, Herman Cole Taylor.She is survived by her children, Beverly Taylor (Ronald) Swaim of Huntsville, AL and Michael Cole (Molly) Taylor of Theodore, AL; her cherished grandson, Shannon Eugene Swaim of Huntsville, AL, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.Graveside services and interment will be held in Memory Gardens of Fairhope, Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at 11:00am.Marie spent her last years at Gordon Oaks in Mobile, AL where she made many special friends. She truly loved her home there and enjoyed life to the fullest. Marie’s family would like to express their appreciation to the dedicated staff at Gordon Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care for their devoted care.
