The Rev. John Clement (Jack) Miller was born in East St. Louis, IL on January 6th, 1933. He died in his home of 45 years at Battles Wharf, AL on November 2nd, 2014. Jack spent his youth in Mobile, AL and graduated with the Murphy High School Class of 1951. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Jack graduated from the University of Alabama (Engineering) and retired with International Paper after 25 years. He served as a Commodore of the Fairhope Yacht Club. Following his retirement, Jack was called to serve as an Episcopal priest and was ordained into ministry after studying at The School of Theology in Sewanee, TN. He was the Vicar of St. John the Evangelist, Robertsdale, AL for 15 years and continued his pastoral vocation at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Bon Secour, AL and at St. James’ Episcopal Church, Fairhope, AL. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Jan Morrisette Miller; his children, Lynn Talbert, the Rev. Keith Talbert, and Amy Garner; his grandchildren, Anne Stevens, Brad Stevens, John Talbert, Dr. Leslie Talbert, Tully Garner, and Lindsay Garner; and his great granddaughters, Grace Stevens and Lilly Talbert. A memorial service will be held at St. James’ Episcopal Church, Fairhope, AL on Thursday, November 6th, 2014. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, with a service immediately following at 11:00 am.
