Marie Butgereit Higginbotham

FAIRHOPE, AL Marie Butgereit Higginbotham, born in Fairhope, AL on September 25, 1929, passed away October 21, 2014. Marie was the owner of the ‘King Kole’ restaurant and lounge for 43 years; she retired in 2006. Marie was preceded in death by her son, David Stewart Higginbotham. She is survived by her sons, Larry (Vickie) Wilkinson of Daphne, Dean Higginbotham and Darwin Higginbotham, both of Point Clear; her daughter, Susie Higginbotham Blackard of Daphne; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her brother, Glenn (Myrna) Butgereit of Texas. She is greatly missed. A special thank you to her caregiver, Martha Dyess. Ms. Martha, has been a blessing to our family. We could not have asked for anyone who took better care of our Mother; she loved her as her own family.
