FAIRHOPE, AL. Helen Collier Camp, Age 75, a native of Mobile, AL and a resident of Fairhope, AL passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014. Mrs. Camp was a graduate of Murphy High School,a graduate of the University of Missouri at St. Louis, received her PhD from Columbia University, New York, and taught at numerous colleges in the New York area. She was the author of Iron In Her Soul, a biography of Elizabeth Gurley Flynn . Mrs. Camp was an active member for several years of the South Baldwin Democrats and was an alternate delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Mrs. Camp is survived by her husband, Frank H. Camp, Jr. of Fairhope, AL; one daughter, Catherine, and her husband Kevin Boyle of Winchester, MA; two grandchildren, Erin and Terry Boyle; one step-sister, Beverly Glenn of Mobile, AL; one step-brother, Melvyn Jones and his wife Esme Evans of St. Paul, MN; sisters-in-law, Judy Camp Guard and Mary Dee Rooney and her husband David all of Marietta, GA; one brother-in-law, Tim Camp and his wife Lee Ann Waters Camp of Mobile, AL; and many loving nieces and nephews.
