Maurine Grayson Shorkey

FAIRHOPE, ALMaurine Grayson Shorkey, age 97, a native of Bogata, TX and a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Wednesday, October 01, 2014.Mrs. Shorkey received her BA degree from East Texas State College in art and Business. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Maurine was a well known local artist in Fairhope, South Carolina and Texas.Mrs. Shorkey was preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. Shorkey.She is survived by her children, Margaret Evans of Fairhope,Charles E. Shorkey (Alice) of Chino Valley, AZ,Allen L. Shorkey (Joy) of Fort Worth, TX,Robert G. Shorkey (Mary Gayle) of Southern Pines, NC;seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren;many other relatives and friends.A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 11:00 a. m.
