Cecil M Ward

FAIRHOPE, AL Cecil M. Ward, a native and life-long resident of Baldwin County, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at the age of 85.  He had a successful career as an entrepreneur starting several businesses, including a dairy, an egg farm, and a construction contracting company. He was also active in many civic and community organizations, including two terms as a County Commissioner, and board positions at Baldwin EMC, and Baldwin Enhanced 911. He enjoyed traveling, passing time outdoors in his beloved garden, and spending time with his family. Always willing to help someone else, he will be missed by those he knew and touched. He is survived by his wife Arden of 65 years; four children, Donald (Sheila) Ward, Vicki (Charles) Vacarella, Douglas Ward, and Terri (Hank) Howell; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Fairhope Christian Church. Visitation will follow the service.
