Donald Eugene Schmitz

SCHMITZ Elberta, Donald Eugene Schmitz, age 86, a native of Grand Bay, AL and a resident of Elberta, AL passed away Monday, August 18, 2014. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the 82nd Airborne Service and served in the army during the Korean War. Mr. Schmitz received a Master Degree at Vanderbilt, Nashville, TN., he taught school in Alabama, Arizona, Texas and Florida. He was a member of Gulf Shores United Methodist Church and the American Legion in Foley, AL. Post 99. He is survived by his son, Donald Ray Schmitz , daughter; Donna Sue (Jeff) Smith his granddaughters Renee Schmitz, Chrissy Schmitz Fuller, Catherine Schmitz and Amanda Fuqua , numerous great grandchildren , longtime companion, Alice and many other family and friends. Funeral service will be held from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral service.
