Mary Elizabeth Hammond

FAIRHOPE Mary Elizabeth Hammond, age 92, a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014. Mary was a life time member of the American Legion (Post 199) and V.F.W. (Post 5660) Auxiliary, and Emblem Club. She was a long-time volunteer at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope and HCMC in Hillsdale, MI. She celebrated her faith by attending First Baptist Church, Fairhope, and singing in the Golden Tones Senior Choir. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Owen E. Hammond; sons, William D. Jordan and Curtis C. Jordan. She is survived by her son, Allan L. (Beth) Hammond of Macon, GA; daughter, Nora J. (Kevin) Lawrence of Jonesville, MI; granddaughter, Kathryn N. (Jason) Stych of Hillsdale, MI; grandsons, Andrew E. (Leilani) Lawrence and Tyler K. Lawrence, both of Jonesville, MI; five great grandchildren; sister, Louise Dyer of Fairhope, AL. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:00. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
