Carolyn Sue Vick Buchanan

FAIRHOPE Carolyn Sue Vick Buchanan, born March 1, 1934, died July 10, 2014 at her home in Fairhope, Alabama. She was a native of Wilcox County, Alabama and the daughter of J. P. Vick, Sr. and Carrie Stockman Vick. She spent her early adulthood in Selma, Al., where she was affiliated with the lumber business. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard W. Buchanan, Sr.; sisters, Della Simmons and Mildred Sessions; and brothers, J.P. Vick, Jr., Reginald Vick, and Billy Vick. She is survived by her daughters and granddaughter, Vikki Turner Tullis (Will) of Mobile, Al., Suzanne Turner Herring (Bobby) of Daphne, Al., Madison Baker Herring, of Daphne, Al.; brother, Bob Vick, of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Bessie Louise Sessions, of Grand Bay, Al.; devoted caretaker and confidant, Gertrude Kelley; and steadfast friend, William A. Finch. A private memorial service will be held at Camden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Camden Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 518, Camden, Al., 36726.
