Leon McGugin

FAIRHOPELeon Edward McGugin, age 89, a native of Brewton, AL and a long-time resident of Fairhope, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014. Leon retired from International Paper Company after 36 years of service. He was a member of Fairhope First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Mattie Howington McGugin. He is survived by his children, Barbara Phillips Bryd (V.R. Byrd) of Bay Minette, Larry E. McGugin of Fairhope, Sandra Daugherty (Jerry) of Foley, Mona Thomas (Calvin) of Loxley, Deborah Mosley (Darrell) of Stapleton, Donna Harbin and Regina McGugin, both of Fairhope; thirteen grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren; five great, great, grandchildren; three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until time of service.
