Harriett Bruner

FAIRHOPE Harriett Hodges Bruner, age 92, born and raised in Louisville, KY, and a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Harriett was a member of several Junior Leagues in cities across the country, a member of Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity for women, and a graduate of Indiana University where she met her husband Ralph. Locally she was active with the Eastern Shore Art Center, Montrose Garden Club, Montrose Watch, and an avid tennis player well into her seventies. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bruner, and grandson, Ian McFarlane. She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Bruner of Naples, FL, and Wendy Bruner of Lexington, MA; son, Ralph W. Bruner, III (Ilsa) of Kingwood, TX; five grandchildren, Sean, Seth, Brooks, Brittany, Harriett “Teddy”; three nieces, and one nephew. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, June 9, 2014 at 1:30 PM in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.
