Ann Boothe Dean, passed away April 20, 2014 after a short illness at the age of 94. Ann was born in Fairhope in 1919 and was the last surviving child of William D. and Carrie Boothe. She left Fairhope after graduation from Fairhope High School in Point Clear and went to Miami, FL, to be near her brother, Lionel. She later married Fred Postle of Robertsdale and travelled the states during his Air Force career. She was a lifetime member of the VFW in Fairhope and has a 1000-hour pin as a volunteer of the Thomas hospital Auxiliary. She retired from Civil Service. During her work career, she worked in the Pentagon, Arlington, VA, and the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL. She also worked at Riviera Utilities in Fairhope. She returned to Fairhope in 2010 to live near family. During the last four years she renewed friendships and enjoyed her role as family historian. She recruited family members to visit the cemeteries and clean the old grave stones of her family members while telling old stories of how the Eastern Shore used to be. She was the voice that carried the news of family events and occasions, helping to keep us all connected and encouraging us to succeed. She is survived by two daughters, Gayle Seamster (Phil) of Foley, AL and Barbara Brown (Curtis) of Euless, TX. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Phyllis Anne Seamster and two great grandchildren, Victoria Anne Sullivan and Jason Sullivan. Other survivors include a special niece, Ann Farnell, who loving called her “Two-Momma”; and a special friend, Ernest Ames. She is also survived by numerous other dear family members and friends. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Phillip Seamster, Jr. Visitation will take place at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 followed by a graveside service at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
