MADDOX FOLEY, AL Clyde Monroe Maddox, age 78, a resident of Foley, AL passed away peacefully at home Sunday, March 9, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born in Chilton County, AL on May 20, 1935 to Mary and John Maddox. Clyde was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He worked as an aircraft instructor and air traffic controller. He was member and a deacon of the Summerdale First Baptist Church, Former Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5658, Former Commander of Disabled American Veterans and Former Commander of the South Baldwin Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol. He was also a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Jaycees, Lions Clubs, and Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bettie Lynn Maddox of Foley, AL ; one son, Charles (Rhonda) Maddox of Gulfport, MS; three daughters, Cindy (Edwin) Hines of Foley, AL , Deborah (Gib Hixon) Boring of Fish River, AL and Amy (Kevin) Decker of Foley, AL; one sister, Thelma Budd of Cambridge, MD; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, AL, Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Funeral service will be Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lay Cemetery, Elberta, AL Family receiving flowers or in lieu of memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Ave. FL17 Chicago, IL 60601.
