Margaret D. Covert

COVERT FAIRHOPE, AL. Margaret D. Covert, age 85, a Mobile native and longtime resident of Fairhope passed away at her home on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Mrs. Covert worked early in her life for the Mobile Press Register where she met her husband of 60 years Sam W. Covert Sr., who preceded her in death in 2010. She also served as a longtime volunteer with Christ The King Catholic School in Daphne. She was a long time member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Mobile and later at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope, She is survived by sons; Sam W. Covert Jr. and his wife Debbie, J. Douglas Covert, Clifford W. Covert and his wife Glenda, daughter Theresa A. Covert, eleven grandchildren; Chrissy, Amber, Ashley, Erin, Natalie, Clay, Dana, Amy, Lesley, Brittany, Caleb, 10 great grandchildren, the youngest, 5 month old namesake Margaret Franklin, and many other friends and relatives. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time for Mass.
