Diane Kichler Christensen

CHRISTENSEN ELBERTA, AL Diane Marie Kichler Christensen, age 62, a lifelong resident of Elberta, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Mrs. Christensen was a teacher with the Baldwin County Board of Education and recently retired after more than 35 years.   She was  a very devoted grandmother to her granddaughters. Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Bloch Kichler. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Virgil “Rip” Christensen, Daughters, Shannon Christensen, Karen (Hudson) Adams; Granddaughters, Hannah and Hartley Gunderson, Anna Adams; Father, Fred Kichler; Sisters, Dorothy (Jim) Hemmert, Nancy (John) Johnson; Brother, Leonard (Susan) Kichler; Nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Friday, February 28, 2014, at 2:00 pm.  The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until the service time. Interment will follow in Elberta Public Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Elberta Elementary, The Leader In Me Program, 25820 US Highway 98, Elberta, AL 36530.
