Gardner Ray Sumrall

SPANISH FORT Gardner Ray Sumrall, age 79, a native of Plateau, AL. and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014.  Ray graduated in the first class graduating from Vigor High School.  He retired from a lifetime of construction work, Ray was the owner of G&R Builders, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Gardner D. and Lela Lane Sumrall, brothers, Benny and Johnny Sumrall and his sister Cecelia Sumrall Malone He is survived by his wife, Glenda Padgett; daughters, Cindy Sumrall Henson and Donna (Clayton) Sumrall Byrd; sister Rita Sumrall Coulter; sister-in-laws, Betty Simmons Sumrall, Carol Fortner Sumrall; brother-in-law, Earl Malone; grandchildren, Bill Henson, Trent (Jessica) Henson, Jennifer (William) Byrd Weaver, Shaina (Lucas) Byrd Mitchem, Camron Byrd; great-grandchildren, Brenton, Hunter & Olivia Weaver, Anna, Allie, Bella & Bailey Henson, Taylor & Hadleigh Mitchem; many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
