Dale Francis Stevens

STEVENS FOLEY, AL Dale Francis Stevens, age 89, a native of Rolla, MO and a resident of Foley, AL, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014. Mr. Stevens retired in 1982 , from Mid-Continent Mapping Center, after 37 years of Federal service. Dale’s Federal service began with the United States Marine Corps, 1943-46, and was resumed in a civilian capacity, when he joined the Geological Survey in 1949. He was recalled to active military duty with the Second Marine Division in 1950 and served until discharged in 1951, when he returned to the Mid-Continent Mapping Center. During the period of 1976-80, he was assigned to the Branch of Cartography, office Research and Technical Standards, at Reston. He retired from the position of Chief , Branch of Cartometric Operations, Mid-Continent Mapping Center. He will be remembered for his quiet and efficient manner. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Stevens of Foley, son, Terry Stevens and his wife Marcie of Rio Rancho, NM; grandson Evan J. Stevens and his wife Samantha of Dallas, TX, granddaughter, Chelsea C. Stevens of St. Charles, MO, other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held at St. Andrew by the Sea, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 2:00PM.
