Charles Edward Hammond

Charles Edward Hammond, age, 57, born in Mobile, AL and a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014.   He graduated from the University of Alabama…”Roll Tide Roll”. He was the proud owner of C. Hammond Distributing, serving as an independent distributor for Flowers Baking Company for over 10 years. He was a hardworking man, and a man of his word. He was raised on Fish River, and loved his boats, fishing, and scuba-diving…all things related to the Gulf Coast. He was a master at grilling on his Weber grill and making a shrimp boil, usually with a cold beer in hand. He always loved his pet dogs, and even befriended a raccoon. He was a man of few words with a heart full of love. Even when he was sick, he’d still say “Life is good”. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Hammond Dix and her husband, Steve of Mobile, and Pamela Hammond and her partner, Karen Haas of Greenville, NC.   An informal memorial to celebrate Charlie will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne: 27409 US Hwy 98. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM with a brief service at 2:00 PM.
