Claudia Dudenhefer Adam, age 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at her home in Elberta, Alabama. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, she lived in Elberta for 19 years. Claudia was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother (Getzy). Her love for God, her family, and dedication to educating children as a teacher and principal will endure through all those she touched. She is preceded in death by Emilie Hilaire Adam, and her parents Mr. Leonard James Dudenhefer and Mrs. Shirley Lavigne Dudenhefer. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Warren Harding Adam; two sisters, Michelle Dudenhefer Benoit and Joel Dudenhefer; two sons, Alexander Adam (Kristina) and Nicholas Adam; four daughters, Gabrielle Wortman (Thomas), Marie-Julie Bordes (Jared), Cecile Nelson (John) and Jeanne Bernier (Michael); two step daughters, Sarah Lacombe (John Paul) and Elizabeth DeGeorgio (Brian); and 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be held at St Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Elberta from 12:00 until 1:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2014, followed by a funeral mass. Interment will then be held at Prince of Peace Cemetery. Our Getzy will be greatly missed.
