Russell Wayne Ford

SPANISH FORT  Russell Wayne Ford, age 81 a resident of Spanish Fort passed away Monday, January 13, 2014. Rus was born to George & Marie (Moeller) Ford on November 20, 1932 in Chicago, IL. He married Julie (Proctor) Ford on September 26, 1956 in Waukegan, IL. He served in the USAF, followed by a decorated 33 year career with the Illinois State Police, retiring as a Lieutenant.  Rus graduated from Nashotah House Seminary in WI. in 1967 and was ordained into the Episcopal priesthood.  His ministry began and ended with him working with those in correctional facilities as well as several churches in IL. and AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie Ford and his brother George Ford.  Russell is survived by his loving wife, Julie C. Ford; his son, Michael W. (Ann) Ford of Peoria, IL.; his daughter, Mary C. (Cleve) Wagstaff of Climax, NC., grandchildren, Brandon (Jenna) Ford, Brad & Justin Reeser, Tiffany Megan, Christopher & Jonathan Meacham; three great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne, AL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.  In lieu of flowers, his family wishes donations be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or the Salvation Army.
