PUGH ORANGE BEACH, AL Ron Pugh, age 70 died peacefully at his home in Orange Beach, AL on Sunday, December 15, 2013. Ron was born in Macon, GA to parents Odelle Thomas Pugh and Benjamin Frank Pugh. The family later moved to Birmingham where Mr. Pugh attended Woodlawn High School. He graduated from the University of Alabama and received an graduate degree from AUM. He went on to serve his country as an Air Force Pilot in the Vietnam War. Mr. Pugh worked in Real Estate for a number of years in Selma before going with the State as a Public Health Environmentalist, then Emergency Preparedness with the State. After retiring in 2004 he moved to Orange Beach with his wife Connie. Mr. Pugh was preceded in death by his parents Odelle and Frank Pugh. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years Connie Eastep Pugh along with three children, Tara Pugh( Jim) Dally, Ashley Pugh (Dale) Knox, and Jonathan Brett Pugh, four grandchildren, Joshua Dally, Nathan Dally, Bryce Knox and Laney Reese Knox, brother-in-law David W. Eastep of Selma and a loving and devoted Aunt Robbie Green of Montevallo, and close friends of the family, Kay and Claudia Stephens . Graveside service were held Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 11:30AM from the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery , Spanish Fort, AL. with Dr. Norman H. McCrummen officiating . In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association at donate.cancer.org.
