GROSECLOSE John Kelly Groseclose, Sr., 81, of Spanish Fort, AL., died Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Westminster Village. He was born October 1, 1931 in Christiansburg, VA. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Connelly Groseclose, of Spanish Fort, AL.; a daughter, Catherine Groseclose of Salt Lake City, UT.; and a son, John Kelly Groseclose, Jr. of Columbus, OH. He earned a B.S. and an M.S. in Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Central Michigan University. He was a design engineer with Dresser Industries and then worked for the Department of Defense. In 1993 he retired from the Defense Supply Center Columbus, Columbus, OH, as Director of Installation Services. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Army Reserves as a Colonel. During his retirement he was a member of the Daphne-Spanish Fort Rotary Club serving as president in 1999-2000. He was also a Master Gardner and a member of the Baldwin Senior Travelers. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, 4301 West Markham Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
