George Marvin Miller

November 29, 1927 — August 20, 2013

FAIRHOPE George M. Miller, age 85, a native of Baldwin County who grew up in Bon Secour, AL. and a resident of Fairhope, AL. passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at his residence. He was a retired Chief Inspector from the U.S. Customs Service with 26 years in service and also worked for GM&O Railroad for 11 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marie Miller, in 1962. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Manning Miller; a son, George W. (Patti) Miller; a daughter, Judy M. Pacey (Paul III); 5 grandchildren: Emily Miller, Kacey Miller, George Colby Miller, Griffin Pacey, and Olivia Pacey; a sister, Carolyn Plash of Gulf Shores; numerous other relatives, friends, and neighbors. The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fairhope at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Miller will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the Church. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Cemetery in Foley. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church 200 S Section St. Fairhope, AL 36532
