George Alvin Pennington

PENNINGTON Orange Beach, AL George Alvin Pennington Jr., age 65, a native of Birmingham, AL and a resident of Orange Beach, AL passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents George Sr. and Louise and a sister Elaine Koker. He is survived by his wife Deena Pennington, son George Ryan Pennington and wife Janna; brother Ralph Pennington and wife Isabel; Mother and Father in-law H.L. (Buck) Pilkington and Evelyn; sister and brother in-law, Susan and Donald Haynes; nieces and nephews; Danny Koker, Carol Koker Lewis, Brian Haynes, Courtney Haynes Harris; two aunts and many other family members and longtime friends. George was a member of the Orange Beach United Methodist Church, long time business man in North Alabama (Cullman and Anniston) for a number of years. He retired in 2012 from Standard Furniture Company. Over his life time he served on many civic and charitable Boards and Organizations. He is the past King of the Treasures of the Isle Mardi Gras Society. Funeral services will be held from Orange Beach United Methodist Church; Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 3:00 PM. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Reverend Alan McBride will be officiating the service.
