William Carl Rohman

ROHMAN GULF SHORES, AL William “Willie” Carl Rohman , age 94 a native of Decatur, IL and a resident of Gulf Shores, AL passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013. Graduated from Decatur High School in 1941. Employed by Mueller Co., sales department in 1936 to retirement in 1981. Joined the US Army August 1941, assigned to 207 M P Co. Served in Fiji, Guadalcanal, Philippines and Kyoto Japan second day occupation. Honorable discharged December 1, 1945. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Rohman, wife Esther F. Schultz in 1947, she went to be with the Lord in 1987, two sons, David and Michael, wife Mildred (Millie) who passed away in 2009. He loved old cars and could fix any of them. Willie loved to do any kind of wood workings but most of all he loved serving the Lord any way he could, and he was Always Ready to give an answer for why he believed that people needed to be saved and Heaven Bound. Willie was a member of First General Baptist Church Decatur, IL, sang in Choir, licensed minister till moving to Gulf Shores in 1994. Participated in jail ministry for 31 years. Taught Sunday school till the Lord took him home at the age of 94. Married Mildred (Millie) April 1, 1988. She went to be with the Lord November 20, 2009. He is survived by four sisters; Ruth Patterson and Justine Gentry of Dallas, TX, Betty (Rick)Combs of Las Vegas, NV, Colleen (Richard) Eichel of Gulf Shores, AL , brother Johnny Rohman of Kingman, AZ. three grandchildren; Craig of Mt. Zion, IL.,, Bradley and Christopher of Decatur, IL. Step grandson, Frank from Illinois and three great grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11:00AM from Lagoon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Gideon Bible or Lagoon Baptist Church, 17867 State Hwy 180 W.
