Susan Tidwell Kocour

FAIRHOPE,AL. Susan Burns Tidwell Kocour was born August 31st, 1946 in Gadsden, Alabama and passed away April 30, 2013 in Daphne, AL. She graduated from Gadsden High School in 1964. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Library Service from the University of Alabama. She taught school in Selma, Mobile, Gadsden, and retired from Hokes Bluff High School as a librarian. She lived in Murphreesboro, Tennessee. For the past 18 years she has resided in Fairhope, Alabama. Susan was preceded in death by her husband Donald O. Kocour. Also, her mother, father, and brother, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Tidwell and Frank. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gale and W. O. (Bill) Smith, and her nephew, Wade Smith, numerous relatives and friends, her dog, Pearl, and her cat, Sophie. Special thanks to Carrie Hill for her support. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Gadsden, book club and bridge clubs, and was a true Alabama football fan. She was known for her wit and warm personality and will be dearly missedA Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held Friday, May 3, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, AL. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held at a later date.
