John Richard "Dick" Whiteley

DAPHNE, ALABAMA John Richard “Dick” Whiteley, age 87, a native of Pasadena, CA. and a resident of Daphne,  AL.,  passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at a local health care facility. Master Sgt. John Whiteley, U.S. Air Force, served in 3 wars and retired after 26 years of service as an air traffic controller. He was owner and operator of J & H Jewelers, was an avid golfer, bowler and dancer.  One of his biggest pleasures was working with his computer.    Dick is preceded in death by his wife of  65 years, Francine Whiteley. Dick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and loving friend to many. He is Survived by his 2 sons, Andrew (Christine) Whiteley of Mobile, Lanny (Nancy) Whiteley of Chickasaw; 1 daughter, Robyn (Jerry) McWreath of Dallas, TX.; 8 grandchildren, Katie Shields, Patrick (Lanie) Bryars, Brian (Dana) McDonald, Lisa (Randy) Gould, Scott (Julie) Morris, Rachel Whiteley,  Chelsea Swendson, Jason (Minako) McWreath, Jeremy (Cathy) McWreath, nine great grandchildren, Brooke, Brent, Nikko, Brock, Chloe, Zachary, Elina Sophie, Zac and Cam; other relatives and friends. Our family would like to thank the entire staff of Crowne Health Care for their special love and care given our father during his stay. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be at a later date at Alabama State  Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Michael J.
