George Walter Young

YOUNG MOBILE, AL George Walter Young, 64, born and raised in Eight Mile, AL and resident of Mobile passed away at home after a brief illness on April 8, 2013. After high school, he volunteered for the Army and served in Viet Nam.  People loved his dry sense of humor and he never met a stranger.  Known for his love and concern for others, George cared for his father and mother before their deaths and was caregiver to his wife and brother-in-law until his recent illness. He is survived by his wife, Annette Cala Young; brother Robert Young; daughters Leslie Nichols, Kelly Williams, and Casey Smith; stepchildren John DiPaolo and Lori Ready; 7 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. There will be a private memorial service. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Addus Healthcare and Covenant Hospice of Mobile.  They took remarkable care of him in a tender loving manner which comforted him in every way.  He felt safe, secure, and loved with all of these people.  There are no adequate words to express the family’s gratitude and love for these fine people. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Covenant Hospice of Mobile.
