FAIRHOPE Theresia “Resi” Willmore, 92, a resident of Fairhope since 1986, died March 15 of congestive heart failure. She was known to her family and friends as “Resi.” Resi was born and raised in a small Bavarian village, and was the third of nine children in her family. She was trained as a seamstress and eventually became a master tailor. She first met her future husband, Wendell, in 1945 while he was serving in the U.S. Third Army. They married nine years later, and stayed in Germany until 1985, with Wendell working in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate’s Office. Wendell and Resi had a wonderful marriage with two children, and traveled extensively throughout Europe until Wendell retired and they moved to Fairhope. Resi had many friends in Fairhope and was an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Wendell predeceased her, as did her sisters, Mia, Liesl, Thekla, Gretel and Hermine. She is survived by her two children, Robert (Mary Beth) Willmore and Fran (Don) Bertini, as well as by her three grandchildren, Kathleen, Patrick Willmore and Theresa Bertini, and her three brothers Hans, Fred and Ernst Galler. She also is greatly missed by her many friends, including Ilse Schulze and Tresha Garrick. The family also would like to thank Diversified Healthcare, Thomas Hospital, Fairhope Health and Rehab, and Covenant Hospice for their loving care in Resi’s final days. A memorial mass will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Monday, April 1, 2013, at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends at St. Lawrence one hour prior to mass. The interment will take place the following week at National Memorial Park in Fairfax,Virginia. Flowers may be sent to Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
