Jerry Ann Peace

PEACE FAIRHOPE PEACE FAIRHOPE, AL Jerry Ann Edwards Peace, age 73, a native of Birmingham, Ala., and resident of Fairhope, Ala., died early Sunday morning, March 3, 2013 with her husband by her side. She was the beloved wife of Henry E. Peace Jr. with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Douglas Peace of Ringgold, Ga.; Scott Peace and his wife Karen of Louisville, Ky.;and Andrew Peace and his wife Mary Crotty of Natick, Mass; four grandchildren, Meredith, Leo, Charlotte and Nicholas; and many family and friends. A 1957 graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Jerry was very active in organizing class reunions. She attended Samford University and graduated from Auburn University where she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. During her 24-year career in education, Jerry was a reading specialist, taught English and acquired master’s degrees in administration and reading from The College of St. Rose while holding several positions, including serving as an assistant principal and special education administrator. In her retirement, Jerry loved to travel with her husband and friends, read and garden. As a resident of Fairhope for the last 11 years, she enjoyed her monthly book club and was a member of the Baldwin Senior Travelers, Eastern Shore Newcomers Club and a member of the Chapter AB of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Memorial services will be held from Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, Ala., Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the service time.
