Mary Belew

BELEWROBERTSDALE, AL Mary Elizabeth "Liza" Belew, age 93, longtime resident of Fairhope and, for the past 2 years resident of assisted living facilities, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013, after a lenghty illness. Mary Elizabeth Lott DelHomme Belew was the only child of Edwin S. Lott and Katherine Bowers Lott.  She was born May 13, 1919 and graduated from The Convent of Mercy Academy in Mobile in 1936. Liza loved being around her friends and volunteered at Mercy Medical and Thomas Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Selwyn A. DelHomme, Sr., husband, Charles L. Belew and a son, George E. DelHomme. She is survived by a son, Selwyn A. DelHomme and wife, Susan of the Naples, FL area;  daughter-in-law, Catherine DelHomme; of Fairhope, stepsons, Michael (Gail) Belew of Fairhope and Atlanta and John Belew, of Atlanta,  numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Memory Gardens of Fairhope, Fairhope, AL.  She requested to be cremated and her remains buried next to her second husband, Charley Belew.
