CARLISLE FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA  Charles Edward Carlisle, 74 of Fairhope, Alabama   Born September 14, 1938 in Madisonville, Kentucky.  He passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Atlanta, GA. Ed was the son of the late Edward James Carlisle and Lottie Mae Williams Carlisle.  He was a graduate of the University of KY where he served as the drum major in the UK Marching 100 and earned a B.S. degree from the College of Education with a major in Mathematics.  His early career began as a High School math teacher, evolving to IBM Computer Systems Engineer then Divisional Manager for RIA legal publishing company in New York.  Ed enjoyed golf and worldwide traveling with his wife and children.  He attended St. Lawrence Catholic church in Fairhope, AL. Survived by his wife, Billie Flanagan Carlisle, and preceded in death by his three brothers, Thomas L. Carlisle, James F. Carlisle and Terry W. Carlisle.   He is also survived by his children: Ann Carlisle Bond of Lexington, KY (Monte Bond) Cherie Carlisle Rood, Atlanta, GA (Charlie Rood) Tricia Dorgan Niemeyer Michael Patrick Dorgan (Denise Dorgan) Sharon Dorgan Davis (Tom Davis) 13 Grandchildren and 1 Great grandchild A Catholic Mass and Commemoration Service will be held Monday, January 14, 2013, at 1:00 pm at St. Lawrence Church in Fairhope, AL. The family requests in lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be sent to Melanoma Research, Dr Patrick Hwu at MD Anderson Cancer Center in honor of Ed's grandson, Trey Rood and cancer survivor now attending the University of Georgia.
