NEEL ELBERTA, AL Mr. Granvil Billie Neel, Sr. was born to William Ennis and Winnie Jane (Turner) Neel on May 2, 1926, age 86, a native of Greene County, MS and a resident of Elberta, AL passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 Mr. Neel, a veteran of WWII, a member of First Baptist Church of Elberta, AL, and member of VFW Post 5658 in Elberta, AL. Mr. Neel worked for over 25 years as an aircraft mechanic at NAS Pensacola, FL. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Kate McLeod Neel, two brothers George Henry Neel, and Gordon (Starchy) Neel Mr. Neel is survived by 3 sons: Bill (Kathy) Neel of Elberta, AL, Kenny (Lita) Neel of Opelika, AL, and Ron Neel of Perdido Beach, AL One daughter Kathy (Paul) Salzmann of Elberta, AL Sister, Katherine Merwine of Oak Harbor, WA Sister-in-law Elizabeth Neel Crager of Leakesville, MS Grandchildren Lisa (Ryan) Madden, Michael Neel, David, Adrien, and Kendra Neel; Zack and Annelise Salzmann; Nicole and Kelsey Neel 3 Great Grandchildren The Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 8 from 10am until 11am funeral service at First Baptist Church in Elberta, AL.
