George Howard Kendley

FAIRHOPE George Howard Kendley, age 88 passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Williaim F. Green Veterans Home in Bay Minette. Mr. Kendley served in the U. S. Navy Seabees in both WWII and the Korean War. He was in the U. S. Naval Reserve for 42 years. He was a Methodist and a member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans, The Military Order of the Stars and Bars and The Sons of the American Revolution. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth L. Kendley of Fairhope; daughter, Alison K. (Mark) Schemmer of Mobile; sons, George D. (Fonda) Kendley of Raleigh, NC and James L. (Renee) Kendley of Charlottesville, VA; two grandchildren, Brian Kendley and Julia Kendley. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Anglican Church in Fairhope. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Francis at the Point Anglican Church, 17280 Scenic Highway 98, Point Clear, AL 36564-0916.
