FAIRHOPE, AL. Kenneth W. Cramton, Age 89, born 6-12-23, a native of Michigan and a resident of Daphne, Alabama for 54 years and later8 years in Fairhope. Mr. Cramton is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mildred Polly Cramton. He was a former Deputy Collectorin charge of Marine Work at seven ports of entry in the Mobile Customs District. He was honored at retirement with a letter of commendation by President George Bush. Mr. Cramton was also an accomplished photographer with award winning exhibits throughout the county, church photographer at Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church for 12 years documenting many events in the life of the church. Mr. Cramton served in the Combat Engineers in the Pacific, 77th division with assault landing in Guam, Leyte, I.E. Shima and Okinawa and spent a year in military hospitals for wounds received on Okinawa. He received the Phillipine Liberation Medal for action on Leyte, and particularly the behind the lines landing at Ipil to break a stalemate on Leyte. Both Mr. Cramton and his late wife, Polly served with the Thomas Hospital Auxillaryand were both members of Trinity Presbyterian Church. Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Cramton Senkbeil of Spanish Fort, AL; two sons, Kenneth W. Cramton,Jr. (Carolyn) and J. Mark Cramton(Barbara) all ofFairhope, AL; 7 grandchildren, Lori Hutchison, Chad Cramton, Christie Lyons, CeCe Cramton, Jennifer Barnes, Jason Senkbeil and Sara Senkbeil; 11 great-grandchildren, Greer Lyons, MacKenzie Yeomans, Hunter Lyons, Caid Lyons, Hadley Hutchison, Webb Hutchison, Allie Cramton, Case Cramton, Jonas Senkbeil, Nigel Senkbeil and Nora Barnes; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at2:00pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00pm until time of the service.
