Joseph Alton Smith

FAIRHOPE, AL   Joseph Alton Smith, age 63, a native of Atmore and a resident of Fairhope, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012. “Poppa Joe”, how he was affectionately known, was a Vietnam Veteran.  He was a member of the local VFW and the American Legion.  He was also a member of the Sertoma Club. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ann Smith of Fairhope, children, Mike Hardy of Grand Bay, Kathy Hardy of Grand Bay, Jeff Hardy of Ft. Walton, Patty Hardy of Mobile, Amy O’Brien of Loxley, Corey Smith of North Dakota, brother, Pat Smith of Atmore, his beloved cat, Lilly, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. A memorial services will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 4:00 pm, at First Baptist Church of Fairhope. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Haven, P. O.
