Helen Marie Norris

DAPHNE Marie Norris, age 55, a native of Mound City, IL. and a resident of Daphne passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012, at home with her family at her side.  She attended Southern Illinois University majoring in Business and accounting.  After a brief time in the Furniture business, she come south to Mobile to be Business manager and Accountant for a new radio station in Daphne, AL.  For the last several years she has been a faithful employee of several media companies, including Capitol Broadcasting of Mobile.  For seventeen years she has been employed by WNSP-FM, WZEW and Dot Com Plus.  She adopted the employees and owners there as her own family and developed a loving bond with everyone at the station.  Her departure is a great loss to Them, the industry, as well as her family. Marie is survived by her loving husband, Durell Norris of Daphne; two step-sons: Stanley Norris of Mobile, Scott Norris of Gulf Shores; her mother: Helen Hood of Daphne, one brother, four cousins and many special friends. A celebration of Marie’s life will be held Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. in Daphne.
