Joel Thomas Crumpton

DAPHNE                               Joel Thomas Crumpton, age 76, native of Columbiana and a resident of Daphne, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012. He retired from Addsco as Safety Director, ORC Company and was the past President of the National Safety Council for South Alabama .  Civic duties include prominent in starting the first Volunteer Fire Department in Daphne.  Joe was a member of the Baldwin County Shrine Club and the ABBA Temple in Mobile .  He was very involved in Daphne Little League Baseball in the early stages with coaching and umpiring duties.  Joe was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Joel was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtie and Claude Crumpton; three siblings, James, Claude, Jr. and Betty. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two children, Karen Burchfield and Michael Crumpton; one granddaughter Shannon; two great-grandchildren, Allie and Brittany; four sisters, Ada (Ray) Jones of Birmingham, Joyce (Hugh) Davis of Montgomery, Kay (Roy) Autrey of Texas, Linda (Donnie) Grandguest of MS.  Many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 11:30 AM from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne.                           . The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
