Marie M. Stewart

STEWART BON SECOUR, AL Marie Miller Stewart, age 88, of Bon Secour, AL, left her earthly home for her heavenly one on July 4, 2012. She was originally from Bay Minette, AL, but resided in Bon Secour for most of her life.  She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and her church, Friendship Baptist. For many years she drove a local school bus route. After retiring, she became an avid quilter. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been recipients of her beautiful handiwork. She will be missed by her family, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Frank) Stewart, her son Robert (Bobby) Stewart, a grand child, Amanda Leigh Stewart, her parents Nancy Ann and John Thomas Miller, four sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her children John (Jeannie) Stewart, Freddie (Lily) Stewart, Steve (Marie) Stewart, all of Bon Secour, Warren (Sharon) Stewart of Robertsdale, Ralph (Jennifer) Stewart of Pensacola, FL, and Rose (Eddie) Brunson of Mobile. She is also survived by one brother John Angus (Marjorie) Miller and four sisters-in-law; Alvina, Orlanda, Anita, and Barbara Miller. She was “Granny” to eighteen grand children, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was Aunt Marie to many nieces and nephews. Her eight grandsons will serve as pall bearers: Jason Stewart, Justin Stewart, Darryl Stewart, Jared Stewart, Frank Stewart, Wesley Stewart, Chris Stewart and Barrett Brunson. “Who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies. Her children rise up and call her blessed. Proverbs  31.” Visitation will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, Bon Secour, Saturday, July 7, 2012, from 9:00am until 11:00am Funeral service will be 11:00am following visitation.                                                                                                          Interment will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery, Foley, AL.
