Arthur Eligh "Buddy" Draper

FAIRHOPE , AL   Arthur Eligh “Buddy” Draper, age 84, a native of Mobile , a former resident of Birmingham , and a longtime resident of Fairhope, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Buddy was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Fairhope, where he was a Deacon Emeritus. Mr. Draper was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Draper and Bessie Rudd; S on, Robert Draper; daughters, Bessie Hardy and Susan Butler. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eunice Draper of Fairhope; their children, Pat Hagler and her husband Dickie of Saltillo, MS, Marilyn Sullivan and her husband Mike of Daphne, Linda Draper Smith and her husband Henry of San Antonio, TX, Steve Draper and his wife Linda of Birmingham; fifteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sons-in-law, Ray Hardy, Jr. of Mobile , Henry Butler of Moody, AL; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, Friday, June 29, 2012, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.   Funeral services will be held from the First Baptist Church of Fairhope, Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 2:00pm. Mr. Draper will lie in state at the church from 1:00pm until the service time. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery , Mobile , AL . In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made, in Mr. Draper’s memory, to the First Baptist Church of Fairhope, 300 South Section Street , Fairhope , AL 36532 .
