Susan T. Henke Nelson

DAPHNE, AL   Susan T. Henke Nelson of Daphne, AL passed peacefully at home with her family at her bedside, Thursday, May 17, 2012. Susan was born in Englewood , NJ , and grew up in Bergen County , NJ .  She attended Elizabeth Seten College , Yonkers , NY , and graduated with a degree in Advertising.  She held positions in West Palm Beach , FL , and Toronto , Canada .  In 1988, she married David Hugo Nelson, Jr., a native of Stewart , FL. Susan is survived by her loving husband, David, daughters, Sarah, Emma, son Zachary, her parents, Bruce and Nancy Henke, sister, Karen Lesley Henke Mutter and brother in law, Bobby Mutter, all of Daphne, AL, in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews living in NJ, TX, FL, and NY. Susan never met a stranger and never met anyone without a smile. She will be dearly missed by her family and many special friends one being Pam Henderson.  Susan was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend. Susan was owner with her husband, of the UPS stores in Daphne, Fairhope, and Gulf Shores . A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 5:30 pm at Church of the Apostles at Gabel St. (between main and Hwy 98), turn onto 3 rd St. (unpaved and behind Sportsman Marine) A reception will follow the service. Placing of ashes in the columbarium at St. James Episcopal Church will be scheduled at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Susan’s memory be made to Church of the Apostles, PO Box 662 Montrose, AL 36559 or St. James Episcopal Church 860 N.
